Allan Brooks Nature Centre
Perched atop the grasslands south of Vernon and boasting 360° views of the region, Allan Brooks Nature Centre is a perfect jumping off point for your next family adventure. Stroll through the indoor exhibits, play with interactive exhibits in the Discovery Room, and learn about local ecosystems from friendly, passionate staff. Pack a lunch and enjoy the picnic area or hop on the grassland trail that originates at the nature centre. Experience it with a guide or take it at your own pace while spotting the many songbirds that call the nature centre home.
The Canadian Wildlife Museum
Located just minutes north of Vernon, the Canadian Wildlife museum is a destination where nature comes alive. Featuring over 350 mounted specimens, this 4,000 square foot facility showcases Canadian wildlife in a variety of exhibits and dioramas. The museum includes 120+ birds of prey, 115 different species of Canadian wildlife, and a beautiful butterfly and moth collection.
Historic O'Keefe Ranch
Immerse yourself in days gone by as you wander through more than a dozen historic buildings at the O’Keefe Ranch. Founded in 1867 and sitting at the end of the first wagon road into the Okanagan, the ranch has many stories to tell. Kids will love interacting with the farm animals, perusing the general store, and the model railway display.
Okanagan Science Centre

With exhibits like the Critter Room, Discovery Zone, Lego Exhibit, Space Ball Wall, Planetarium, and more, the Science Centre is the perfect stop for everyone – the young, and young-at-heart.
